Yesterday I was fortunate enough to get taken into Rio biggest favela. Rocinha is home to 75 000 people and truly is a town within a city. It is run by drug lords and walking by teenagers holding machine guns and AK 47’s made it all the more eye opening. When you look past the bullet holes there were far more people that greeted us with loving kindness. Carnival 2019!!!!!! I can’t even believe that we were at Rio’s Champions Parade. I have never seen anything so grand and celebratory.
